Ratman of Southend
The Ratman is a local legend originating in the town of Southend-on-Sea, Essex. Centering around an underpass, the legend has two main variants, the commonality between them being the presence of a rat-like creature who appears in the pedestrian walk

I know another theory
The story was nice but uh... there are other theories about this maybe there is another cat like lion ,tiger or something that have been transported there illegally like the panther you saw maybe one of the ABC's or it could be another creature like a mutant panther or something.... I hope my theories helped you in your problem it is just like a panther could never live that long and how can a man tame such cats!!!

okay, i couldn't edit the page, so I've put it in this thread ...
In an English county called Kent is a small town called Faversham, mostly surrounded by woodlands and fields. In the late 70's, a man had exotic cats shipped in during the night to have as pets, illegal of course, but he who has the money shall buy his own deed. He had four cats all together: a lion, a tiger, a leopard and a panther. He had them from a young age so they learnt to live together. Eventually a dairy farmer caught wind of these cats and thought he could make some money. So he slaughtered one of his own cows and told the local authorities that a man with monsterous cats were the culprits. After hearing of this, the cat man set his cats free, as he loved them too much to let the police take them away and have them Destroyed. Ironically, as they were set free it became a hunt. All cats were reported dead, accept for one. The panther. The panther was never found. Through the years, cows and sheep have been found slaughtered, even into the mid 80's. The authroities and experts all decided it is plausible for the panther to be doing this, but its reign of terror does not match the time length of its life expectancy. In the 90's, it continued, smaller cats and even dogs were found mutilated, then eventually there were reports from dogwalkers that they saw an extremily large cat in the woods or sprinting across fields. When investigation took place they found footprints, but the were more than twice the size of a regular fully sized panther. And even to this day sightings are reported. It is very hard to find info on this creature, I only know myself as I am from the town of Faversham ... And I too, have seen it.
