Did you know that the devil didn't exeist in Christian mythology until around 1100's because they wanted to get more followers. So they named many things that were the devil, like the snake in the garden. Orriganily an evil snake, now the devil... 5  out of 7 found this valuable. Do you?

Yup. That is very correct. Same goes for the word Satanist. Did you know it DOES NOT stand for the follower of Satan? It actually stands for those men and women who shun Christ for the sake of Science. Christianity coined the term to mislead people and again gain more followers. The same goes for the stories that originated behind the name. Only within history did the concept change to what it is now considered. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Few. For a moment I thought you were calling me that.
Times change as do perceptions. For example, the word Dunce is a word of insult, but the origin is from a great thinker's name which meant high importance to be even called that!
