This seems interesting, but some more information would be appreciated. What culture came up with this legend? Who cursed him? Is there a way to keep him from eating your children?

Yeah I think a 12 gauge shotgun with XXX buckshot will do the trick, wound him and then tie him up for a month. sincehe can't move on to the next tree, he'll die
