The Basilisk (Draco Basiliskos) is one of the most mysterious dragons known. It can take the form of any other dragon or pseudo-dragon species. The only way to tell if a dragon is actually a basilisk is it's eyes, which stay a piercing emerald green, with flecks of gold. Unfortunately, if direct eye contact is made, an almost hypnotic state is induced. The basilisk is possibly the most venomous species of dragon, even secreting it's venom through the soles of it's feet, leaving a trail of dead plants most everywhere it goes.
Basilisks commonly make their homes among the bluebell woods of southern England's chalk downlands.
