addition to basilisk
in Greek mythology the basilisk is a monster that does not turn things to stone but spits poison and they are afraid of weasels plus wherever they walk plants die so if your going basilisk hunting then look for a trail of dead or smoking plants

Missing info!
I thought that if you were to look at the basilisks eyes, it would automatically kill you unless you see its reflection! Is this correct?
