Apr 30 2008, 10:18 AM EDT yrthaks are eyeless dragons with a single odd horn in the center of their forehead.yuan-ti(sorry,last time I spelled it wrong.)are snake-human creatures, like Echidna. And finally, ormyrrs are like slugs with several short legs, lacking any magical skills whatsoever. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. May 3 2008, 5:56 AM EDT I was not aware of the first creature (yrthaks) but did come across the second. As for the third, that featured in the game Ruins Of Myth Drannor - a Dungeons and Dragons game. I thought it was only a game based creature. Glad to be proven wrong. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. RE: Want names of creatures?I've got a whole bunch!
May 25 2008, 4:00 PM EDT "What is the creature like?"the creature is somewhat like a griffon - but mostly cat (a specific species) with eagle wings (specific eagle again) with a few horse traits (stems from years of liking both Pegasus and Griffons). Wiry & lean, yet powerful. Personality-wise it would be a staunch (& even violent if necessary) fighter for justice & the underdog, dependable in all situations - but generally & mostly very playful & mischievous, a loyal & faithful guardian of its "owner" / keeper (it is a cat, noone can "own" one!). My problem is I am a scientist and somewhat lack "artistic" thinking, so I am tending towards a scientific, descriptive name which perhaps is not applicable. Yet I want a "perfect" & correct name as I wish to use this combination as an online avatar. If you can help I would appreciate it - if you wish the details then I would prefer to IM them (I have "ownership" issues too it seems) ;) 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

May 26 2008, 3:03 AM EDT I can wholly understand on the ownership thing (I'm partial to that myself). Allow me a moment to tinker on the details given presently. Maybe I can come up with something 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

May 27 2008, 7:45 AM EDT wow, thanks ... :) I probably have even less clue if you are heading in the right direction, but they are all very interesting names. Is there any meaning to them / how did you get to them ... Specifically 4 & 1.. altho you will have to please explain the pronunciation .. hehe 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Want names of creatures?I've got a whole bunch!
May 28 2008, 2:37 AM EDT It's easy, tho they have no real meaning. basically I took the main features of the animal (Horse, Cat, Bird) and translated it into a number of languages. Anything that seemed good I then mixed the letters about to form something new. 1st example is from Italian. 2nd and 3rd is German; 4th is Czech. Here is how I pronounce them: 1) Ga-Val-Lo 2) Fer-se 3) Vo-erd-se 4) Kun-ta-chi O-ka 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
