elves ain't lord of the rings

Firstly, Elves do not look like legolas!! J.R.R. Tolkien made up his view of elves (even though it's a pretty cool view of them), but they're not actually what they look like, I think the real elves look a little less human. 6  out of 9 found this valuable. Do you?

actually you've got it the wrong way round. The original description of elves are a lot like the way J.R.R. Tolkien describes them. Whilst he did take different aspects from many different cultures and made them seem more angelic they are a lot closer than most people get. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

That is ONE thing Tolkien did do right.

But, He got Goblins all wrong.
Goblins are NOT Orcs, either.

Nope.
I like Tolkien, don't get me wrong. He was a great author and imaginative story teller, but he totally screwed with traditional fairy lore and legends.
Goblins are solitary beings, for instance. They are not militaristic, they don't form armies, live in "Tribes" or "travel in packs" or any of that jazz. And Orcs and Goblins are not only NOT the same creatures They are not even similar with the exception of SOME Boggarts. and even then the similarities are cosmetic.
