Wasn't this creature indirectly mentioned in the Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan? In the second book when they go to that place to rescue grover. Or it might have been directly mentioned...Anyhow, in the book it is said that people who are not aware of the mythical creatures or something, refers to it as the Burmuda Triangle. It's got to do with the weird disappearance of ships and planes and such in the midst of three rocky islands. Percy Jackson goes to the sea of monsters to rescue his friend, and also ends up saving or retrieving the legendary golden fleece. It is a very good series and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Greek mythology. :) 17 out of 29 found this valuable. Do you?

Bermuda Triangle is totally different from this sea monster.. its stated clearly that it sucks everything in and shoots it all out. its a myth sea monster in greek mythology. Its not Bermuda Triangle.

PaperBackSwap.com is a good place to get the rest of the series! And Charybdis was indeed in the Sea of Monsters, if my books were unpacked I'd quote the description. All I remember is how when he looked into the whirlpool he saw an enormous creature with it's mouth open (so it was parallel with the seafloor) and gigantic teeth that were pointed & chipped with entire boats wedged between some. Oh & Charybdis was located in what Greeks called the "Sea of Monsters", in Rick Riordans books every Greek landmark moved to a new spot in North America, he just happened to place it in the Bermuda Triangle. Which makes quite a lot of sense. It's only his books though. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
