Compare biblical stories to any other religion that's considered myth (Egyptian, for example). How are they any different, other than you believe one, but not the other? Both have fantastical claims about the supernatural to explain certain events by saying a not-evidenced supernatural being is responsible. Further, these myths were believed every bit as much as the current religions are. They have the same lack of evidence, and often similar stories (i.e fighting giants, or David/Goliath and Odysseus/Cyclops). To say that curent religions are not myths, without evidence.of them being true, is by definition special pleading. 3  out of 5 found this valuable. Do you?

Where's your proof for "Evolution" or "The Big Bang?" As a Christian, I have no problem admitting I have nothing to back up my beliefs but unexplainable occurrences and my own faith, but (for those of you who paid attention in science class) those 2 so called "facts" have been "disproven" just as many times as any religion on the face of this Earth! Not only that, Evolution and the Big Bang have a little word at the end that is paradigm changing. That word is "theory!" 2  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

I find the idea of God(s) more probable than the Big Bang Theory. The BBT suggests that the universe came into being because of universal laws, but if the universe did not exist yet, then how could universal laws?
I myself believe in the evolution of humans, but not from great apes. A much more primitive human? Yes. But an ape? No. That is the reason we have not yet found the link between the two, because it simply does not exist.
I am a Christian and refrain from basic sin, but I can't help but think that many gods seems much more likely than one. I'm not calling any faith incorrect, believe whatever you believe, I'm just saying that some make more sense than others.
For example, in the Christian 'mythology', there is one God. He created everything within seven days by himself.
In the Egyptian and Greek 'mythologies,' there are several gods, each with their own 'specialty.' They each have a main focus.
I say 'mythology' in quotes because to certain people, it is not mythology, it's true.

All religions are right, because it's all the same divine, its just easier for us to give the divine a name(s) (Anubis, Athena, God, etc) One god is just as real as the next. All religions go to the same place, so dont worry. If you find one that you are happy with then thats all that counts. And the proof, is in your own heart . 2  out of 5 found this valuable. Blackwolf check your facts first, evolution DOES NOT SAY WE CAME FROM APES!!! It says we both came from a common ancestor not that one became the other.

Evolution states that humans evolve from the great apes. But most people, especially religious people, believe that there was a common ancestor. I believe in a common ancestor. Maybe, before you decide to be rude, try to brush up on your science.

It is mythology. Mythology is defined as: "a collection of myths, especially one belonging to a particular religious or cultural tradition." Where Christianity and any other religions who have their own collection of mythology surrounding them, fit snugly. Just in case you think your religion is spot on, here is a list of known deities from throughout human history. http://www.godfinder.org/ Do you find this valuable?

Was reading this thread semi-serious until i read your post alula couldn't help but laugh x] back to topic though whether it's myth or not is dependent on the belief system of the individual who believes in it. To a hardcore Atheist it is simple mythology whereas to a believer it is real. Of course factual evidence has a part to play as does faith, but i don't feel like getting into it.
