I am earning my MDiv and there is some indication that a cherubim looked more like a sphinx with wings or the flying bulls of Babylon. This is where "to ride" comes into play.

I should warn you that many translations are very false... For instance, Nephilim either means beautiful angelic-human warriors or a huge giant race that eat people and are hideous... 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

the cherubim is a creature of holiness. they never appear as a human with the body of a lion and the wings of an eagle. the sphinx is actually one of the creatures that the book of Revelations talks about. it says that several creatures will come down from the heavens to take away the ones that have recieved passage into the city of the Lord Do you find this valuable?

well that's incorrect, there's nothing holy about them, they're just a kind of angel. Do you find this valuable?
