Aello
Classification: Mythical
Origin: Greek, later Roman
A well known harpy, was a sister to at least two other harpies. They plundered like vultures or bandits for food. Another source says that they were not filthy creatures that seeked out to starve people (except Phineus), but was actually sisters of Isis. The other two were Celaeno, and Ocypete, but there is possibly another named Podarge. Aello's name meant stormy.
