OK All your pages in the navigation box are still there. There are 5 mods which one is a creator and 6587 members. I could see some pictures on some of the pages.
I found quite a few new members for this years date. There did appear to be a number of deleted threads. A member names Pelagios was the last to reply to the deleted threads and I see they have cancelled their account.
Have you changed your browsers name from Wetpaint to Wikifoundry.com? Have you recently cleared your cashe and cookies? Are you on the latest browser support?
I did notice you allow anonymous people to join. Not a good idea in my opinion. The person who joined under the 'anonymous' name posted a few threads.

If anyone or anything got hacked, it wasn't the servers. Also, the servers don't delete anything on it's own. Unless a user hits 'Delete' on whatever, which tells the server to delete it, it doesn't delete things by random.

Likely a staff member stayed logged into their computer, and a younger sibling started to delete pages and ban members for whatever reason, someone guessed the staff member's password (which if it was a simple password, it's their fault for using such an unsecured password), or the unlikely scenario of their account being actually hacked.

There is also the likely-scenario the Admin, Pelagio, went rogue, demoted everyone to Moderator, and started deleting stuff until Pelagio grew tired and canceled their membership.

I will always value the friendships with the people here, that I have made. But.... as these friends are moving on... maybe it's time I did the same.

Goblin.... The glory days of the Mythical creatures and beasts guide site seem behind it, now. Chances are it will be a very long time before it returns to what it was. The days of Alula, Tizzy(aibell), Pelagios, The Mantis and the many others you mentioned, before, are long over.
Though I am certain my saying this will bring consternation down upon me, perhaps it really is time that you moved on.
Find other similar sites, make new friends but check back with us, periodically. Go to new chats and do the same. What you do now is tantamount to trying to revive the corpse of a treasured friend. You torture yourself. Bury the corpse and move on.
