Hsigo
A creature from Chinese folklore. The hsigo were monkey like beings with human faces, dog tails and bird wings large enough for controlled flight. To sight one in an area was indication of a drought.
These creatures were thought to have been the inspiration for the flying monkeys in The Wizard of Oz.
