heart defnders
Heart defenders or "Chosantoir Chori" (as they are known in Ireland) are demon like mystical humans in Ireland during Celtic times.
These human like creature were seen as punisher's of adultery.
the Heart Defenders are told to be hansom young men and are the grown sons of those who committed adultery.
These violent warriors are said to be "as human as you or I" . The only difference between a young man and a Heart Defender can be seen at night. heart defenders do not sleep but leave there bodies and manifest there spirits to a physical form .They search the area for adultery and carry a long cane like stick.
The heart defenders use this stick to kill both people found committing adultery.
They are believed to be tall ugly asexual creatures with astonishing strength.
There are cases of men/women convicted of murdering there spouse and the spouses lover with blunt instruments but plead innocent in trials some belive these killings are the work of the heart defenders.
Although the heart defenders have demonic characteristics they are in fact cursed with this duty and although one may wish to seek help it cannot as the person would collapse dead if it attempted to reveal itself.
the curse lifts from the person in time and only afflicts young adults.After the curse is lifted the person may still have side effects such as
*Abnormally long life span
*Astonishing strength
*Needs very little sleep

il forgive for the misspelling of defenders :L.
my old man was telling me about these guys (he grew up in kerry ireland) he was told about them when he was a kid but i googled it and couldnt find a damn thing about them ! a few years later my girlfreind got me a book she found in a second hand book store about myths of ireland and stuff , and what do you know i found them there was a lot more info in the book tho like accounts and stuff plus a sketch of one ! (real ugly + naked) il upload the pic if i get a chance! |
