HathorThis is a featured page

The Ancient Egyptian goddess Hathor was present in Egypt as early as 2700 B.C. She was revered by women throughout Egypt, mothers especially seeing as she was supposed to bring imminent birth and was also worshiped ,along with Bat , as a fertility goddess. If she was not represented in her human form than she was seen in her animal form; that of a cow.
Hathor, in some legends, is said to be the wife of Ra, while in others, she is the wife of Thoth. It is very unclear as to where she originated from and to whom she "gave birth" to. Hathor is one of the Egyptian goddesses that researchers have a hard time deciphering. There are many contradictions in her legends and even in her hieroglyphs. So, to this day, some parts of her remain unknown, or in question.
